NZeTA – Get it before you go
Download this free official New Zealand government app and use it to request your NZeTA and pay the IVL. The app is the fastest way to request an NZeTA and should take you less than 5 minutes.
You can use the app to scan your passport to upload your details and scan your credit or debit card for ease of payment.
You can request and pay for up to 10 NZeTAs in one transaction for your family or group.
What are the NZeTA & IVL?
The NZeTA is a border security measure introduced by the New Zealand Government on 1 October 2019.

Most visitors coming to New Zealand must pay an International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) of NZD $35. The IVL is a way for you to contribute directly to the tourism infrastructure you use and help protect the natural environment you enjoy during your stay in New Zealand. Over 400,000 travellers have now used this official New Zealand government app to successfully request their NZeTA.
This version (1.2.4) allows you to check your NZeTA status even if you requested your NZeTA on a different device or via a different channel. You can now make multiple NZeTA requests from the same device without deleting previous requests and payment by American Express has been enabled.

Showing my name incorrectly
I’m a tourist from Taiwan, over 95% of the population have one character for our family name and two characters for our given name. But when I scanned the passport, it automatically took only the first character of my given name to be my first name (we don’t have middle name). Which is not how we would call ourselves or want others to call us.
Please change the system for the visitors coming from non Latin alphabet language countries. Thank you.

Always display issue status
My wife and I did download this app to apply NZeTA and paid it on Oct. 2th. But the App always display 「issue」status without explanation. It is very inconvenient to us. We don’t know what happen and can’t do anything. 😡 How to solve our problems? or tell us contact person ? like Email? Thanks.
